BOOK REVIEW: A World of Three Zeros by Muhammad Yunus

I picked up A World of Three Zeros by Muhammad Yunus because I wanted to explore innovative solutions to global poverty, inequality, and environmental challenges. Yunus, a Nobel Peace Prize-winning economist and founder of microfinance, presents a compelling vision of a world where capitalism serves humanity rather than the other way around.

He argues that traditional profit-driven capitalism has failed to address fundamental global issues, and he proposes a new economic model—one that aims for zero poverty, zero unemployment, and zero net carbon emissions. Through the concept of social business, Yunus illustrates how entrepreneurship can be used not just for profit, but for solving society’s biggest problems. He shares real-world examples of businesses designed to empower communities, create jobs, and promote sustainability, proving that economic success and social good can go hand in hand.

What I found most inspiring is Yunus’ belief that change isn’t just possible—it’s already happening. His optimism is contagious, pushing readers to rethink the role of business, finance, and individual responsibility in shaping a more just and sustainable world. A good read.
